Japanese Chiyogami – Red Blossoming Ocean is a beautiful paper, also known as Yuzen Washi paper. This spectacular style of paper has been made for hundreds of years and was originally inspired by the Kimono fabrics that were made in the Yuzen area of Kyoto. The paper was originally designed to be cut into small pieces and made into paper dolls or used for small boxes. Not much has changed since those original days, the scale of the designs and even the symbols you can see in the papers today are reminiscent of the original designs.
Japanese Chiyogami has a lovely, material-like feel, it is durable, beautiful and it gives us endless inspiration for creative projects. We especially love to use it as a colourful accent on an invitation, or wrapping paper for very special presents.
