We have a lot of different sizes of card, paper and envelopes available and sometimes it can be confusing to understand exactly what you need. So we’re breaking it all down for you here. We’ve kept everything to scale so you can see how it all fits together.
A3, A4 and A5
These are the classic sizes, you’ll certainly have heard of them. An A3 is equal to 2 A4s and one A4 is equal to two A5s.
SRA3 and 12″ x 12″
SRA3: the SR stands for supplementary raw format. Because printers can’t print all the way to the edge of the paper, if you have a design featuring print at the edge, you’ll need to print on SRA3. It’s slightly larger than A3 (as you can see below) and you’ll cut away the extra after printing.
As for 12″ x 12″, that’s a special size for scrapbooking. It’s 12 inches square, which is equal to 305mm.
Which Envelopes?
Here are our card and envelopes, we show you how they fit together, starting with the classic A4 which fits into a C5 envelopes when folded or cut in half.
5″ x 7″ card is designed to be folded in half and becomes a size that is approximately 5 x 7 inches in size and it fits perfectly into our 5″ x 7″ envelopes.
A5 Card or A6 Landscape Cards folded in half fit into C6 envelopes.
140 Square Cards are designed to be folded in half and fit into a 150 Square envelope. We also stock 160 Square envelopes. For a sneaky trick you can cut a 12″ x 12″ card in half, fold that in half and the resulting size fits perfectly inside our 160 Square envelopes.
DL is the classic size that you might receive in the mail. DL Card (which is 1/3 of an A4 sheet) or DL Single Fold Cards are ready to fit straight into a DL envelope.
Accessories
Now for our less ordinary sizes:
- Place Cards are pre-scored and ready to be folded in half
- Gift Tags are perfectly proportioned tags with a hole at the top, ready to be added to your next gift
- Palm Cards or Artist Trading Cards are perfect for writing a speech, or decorating for trade
- 11B Envelopes which are the smallest that you can send via Australia Post
- Just a Note Envelopes which are perfect for sending a short note and are perfectly sized to fit an ATC card inside
And, finally, inserts. They’re paper sheets that are cut perfectly to give a 3mm border on every edge of a 140 Square Card or A5 Card.
